So true. Everything is fine until it isn’t. That extremely close call has kept you safe in all your subsequent travels Stuart. It fine tunes our awareness, 6th sense or intuition hey! The important message in today’s post is so solid for travellers everywhere. Be aware, tread with care and try (note the word try!) to travel with an inconspicuous presence. So glad your inner Jason came out. Plus what a wonderful way to interpret Antarctica’ presence in South Oz.

Thanks Lindy, yeah, it was funny how the conversation turned out to be so much more than just finling the report. I was blown away when he told me he was educated in Adeliade!

I always thought Phongsali was a little scary/ on edge. Thankfully nobody tried to shoot me (that I noticed). Really looking forward to your impressions of the town and its inhabitants.

Hi David, It is a really beautiful province. The river trip south from Hat Sa (before it was dammed) was an absolute cracker. Will be a while before I get there though as route has ne north to Huay Xai and Muang Si etc then I’m going to pop over into Burma for a little bit. Will get there eventually!
