Cheers Mark. Yes agree, I think whenever time allows, if you can do a boat trip of some description, just to get a different viewpoint on where you are, almost always pays off.
Funny, I was thinking the same thing when you were in Thonburi a few days ago. Back when I lived in Bangkok and friends were in town, I used to pick up a private boat (they were cheap then) for a canal tour on that side of the river. It was always wonderful. On my most recent trip to Bangkok in February, David and I caught the express boat along Saen Saep all the way to Phan Fa. It was one of the most rewarding things I did all trip.
I'm also enjoying the posts as well as the commentaries. Looking forward to tomorrow's :)
Thanks Stephen! I’m actually terrified of macaques so tomorrow’s should be a cracker!
Really enjoying these commentaries, especially for places I know a little. 👍
Thanks Rich—glad you’re enjoying them. Tomorrow is Lopburi, which I’m gritting my teeth about writing. Bloody monkeys!
The afternoon boat cruise in Ayutthaya is one of my absolute favorites.

By the way, I am in one of the Ocean rooms at Happinezz Hills, if you'd like to stop by later for a Bintang or three. Cheers.
