The plan is to have a commuter line station there https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRT_Dark_Red_Line . At the moment there is no official release of how the line south of Bang Sue will look. They have to clear all the informal housing along the railway, and the line will cross the river and potentially go all the way to Mae Klong.
Thanks, Stuart. I'd heard those same reports that a limited service will continue on certain, as yet unspecified, lines from the station. I will miss the station, and am glad I stopped through there on my trip last February. Cheers.
I can taste it. I can feel it. I am there again . Thanks
Thanks Lindy!
Good food court. Well, it's Thailand so redundant comment I guess.
brilliantly written stories, immerse myself completely in it, cheers Stuart
Thanks Marc! Glad you enjoyed it.
We really loved the Hualomphong video too. It won’t be the same leaving from the new station.
Yeah, the video is just so good huh. Initially I thought I dunno if I could watch a video that long about a train station, but was mesmerising.
Most of my many trips to Cambodia started at Hualamphong... I'll be sad to see it close.
Likewise!
What will happen with Hualamphong after the big new station opens? I've heard it won't close, but will still be used some.

Hi Mark. Plan is for it to become a museum I believe. See here for more info: https://southeastasiaglobe.com/rolling-into-the-future/
