get off the banana pancake trail and travel slowly always allowing days for the unplanned (apart of course when heading to airport) and this type of experience may happen across SEA - perhaps not so much the invitation to stay but certainly offers to be shown around the local area to see things you would just never have found on your own and eat (and drink). yes it far more rewarding than another nights drinking with a load of fellow westerners and the food will open your eyes to the local cuisine as your host orders dishes you will never be able to order yourself (unless you point at random)
